The story is masterfully crafted, although I feel the interracial relationships were for a successful show. As suave and amazingly beautiful as this actor is his gorgeous dark skin would have gone perfectly with black woman. The contrast is yet another slap to a culture that seems to believe to show two beautiful brown people would be deemed less palatable or have a non bi-racial child.
Let’s not forget the deadbeat father stereotype that set the tone early on. Aside from the superficial racial undertones that are repeatedly beaten into the audience, hopefully, the actor will get the recognition he rightfully deserves.
I’m certain, I’m not the only person who had to push through the above insensitivity which would have undoubtedly let this overshadow the first season.
I hope to see a renewal of the series minus the racist stereotypes.
