I was impressed by the footage. I have been doing similar work in prisons for quite a few years with the aim of helping Maori offenders take personal responsibility for their own actions. I began observing the men through visits beginning in 1963 on a voluntary basis. I was finally asked in 1995 to write my program up and that I could be paid. It was formally done in 2000 and ended in 2004 through lack of funding. I still run programs from my home with the occasional visit to a prison. This doco shows how Indigenous concepts and ideas through ceremony and story telling can work for hardened and distraught men. I have sent this website out to my people. My name is Te Hatapihopatapui (Olly) Ohlson of NZ. Nga mihi nui.(Many blessings to all involved in this wonderful program)
