One of those films you're either going to love or hate, with very little middle ground here. I understand the general criticism overall, and because I'm one of those in the "love" it camp, I gave it 5 stars to compensate for the negative reviews.

This is one of those shows where it's a bit of slow start, and is going to take a couple episodes to decide whether or not you'll want to finish. So when I say I absolutely loved this show and enjoyed every minute of it, know that I also understand where some of the more negative reviews are coming from. I also unknowingly had this book for years and am definitely going to give it a read now.

I actually give it 4 stars but put 5 to make up for the ridiculously low critic ratings on this one. The show focuses more on human interactions than than that of the aliens but it still is overall an interesting albeit slow at times show. It gives me "Arrival" vibes which is literally my favorite alien film ever, so perhaps my views may be more biased than the average viewer. Regardless, the trash critical reviews are completely uncalled for.

I watch this movie once every couple years since I was a kid. And it's like watching it for the first time every time. It's dark and real.
