While it isn’t the best movie I’ve ever seen, it was a lot of fun to have a nostalgia trip with a new spin. Everyone wants to take a dump on things that are too different from the original thing they loved, but also criticize it for being too similar. Just sit back and enjoy watching the movie. Don’t expect it to be better than the first. Don’t try to sit and poke holes in the plot. Basically don’t ruin the movie for yourself by trying to find reasons to trash it. Just enjoy the feeling of seeing actors you love come back to the roles you loved them in and be entertained. The first movie came out when I was young and I remember watching it wide eyed for the action. As I got older, I appreciated the philosophical side of the movie more. The newest installment managed to give me goosebumps as it made callbacks to the things I loved while also giving you enough new content to not make it seem like a straight up repeat. I loved it for exactly what it is. An entertaining movie.
