I kind of knew to a certain extent what I was in store for with William Dafoe. I was rather surprised in Robert Pattinson's performance. The film kept me captive and had some humorous quirky moment's. Never really thought about the history of lighthouse keepers but the unraveling of Dafoe and Pattinson's psychy makes mad sense. There were scenes in the movie I thought were unnecessary regarding Pattinson's obsession with mermaids but hey what's a guy to do stuck 24-7 with crusty cranky Dafoe? There were times when I questioned reality and madness so I have to give it some positive credit. Definitely unique in it's story. Not a film I would take a minor to. A little tidbit of fact in the end credits.
