I would give this 2.5 stars but there is no option for that and I don't think the book deserves 3 stars. First off I loved the first book and the film I feel they accompany each other very well and I feel its very beneficial if you read the book after the movie. As you get more perspective of the emotions and feelings of scenes in the film. Anyway this is about Find Me, at first I quite liked the book but then I reevaluated my decision and realized it wasn't very good. Don't get me wrong the writing was very good and the words and emotions were very descriptive. But that being said, everyone reading or wanting the sequel expected 300 pages of Elio and Oliver, instead we get 12 pages at the END! The book wasn't really needed as everyone knows what would have happened, Elio and Oliver would come together eventually, no matter the ending of both first book and film, the ending of their love story would have been happy anyway, they are soulmates and their love that was still evident would have led them back each other no matter what. But the book waste's much of its time on Elio's father love story, which could have really been 12 pages. The reuniting of Elio and Oliver feels both rushed and unconvincing, there seemed to be no conflict whatsoever. I wanted to see what happened when Oliver came of the plane and saw Elio again, it should have really been 150 pages more. The ending doesn't feel very deserved based on this book. I hope that with the sequel film coming out in the next few years changes this considerably and makes Oliver and Elio reunite in a way that feels expanded and convincing,I love how Oliver and Elio ended up together just not in the way that book has them reunite. Or at least Luca Guadagnino should add the scenes from the end of the end of the first book, which would feel much more deserving. And cut the Samuel Perl men part to at least 25-30 of the runtime.

I first read this book when I was fourteen just before It (2017) came out and now am currently listening to the audio book just in time for It chapter 2. This book I would consider would be my favorite, the characters are extremely well written and feel for Every character except Henry Bowers, who in my opinion is the most viscous and psychopathic bully ever put to paper. This book is touching,shocking and terrifying at the same time, with IT and his form of Pennywise being one of Kings most chilling Antagonist's. The book expertly weaves the preset and the past with King making you root for the losers club as kids and as adults. If your a Stephen King fan and haven't read the book, do yourself a favor and read it, try to ignore the length, sometimes it can be a bit of a drag but its some of the best 1400 pages I have ever read.
