Tower of Death - Hong Kong Cut Ultimately more a sequel in name only but if I can give Game of Death II one thing off the bat, it's that the incorporation of Bruce Lee footage is far less jarring here than it was in the Clouse film. While the footage there seemed shoehorned into the narrative, here the filmmakers attempt to try and build the film around the footage they have. However, it is still strange to think about how far Raymond Chow was willing to go in order to include this footage - it almost seems like he would have gone as far as digging up Bruce's grave if given the chance. If you can get over the fact this film has very little connection to Bruce Lee, especially in the alternate cuts dialling back how much footage of the man is used, what you'll be rewarded with is a nicely funded and strikingly designed movie with lots of well-staged and choreographed fights courtesy of Yuen Woo-ping, Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao (who features in the film quite heavily for most of the fights). But outside of that, it's a bit of a snore-fest, only really picking up once it decides to stop using Bruce Lee footage mid-way through.

With William Friedkin unavailable, author and one-time director William Peter Blatty took up the job himself and... by god, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say, The Exorcist III is just as, if not more, terrifying than the original. Top-tier acting from George C. Scott and Brad Dourif, brilliant and minimalist music by Barry De Vorzon and astounding direction from Blatty with an atmosphere of unbearable dread and utter horror; also contains the single greatest (and only acceptable) jump-scare in film history. The Exorcist III is bloody horrifying in the best way possible and a worthy successor to the already frightening original.

Nah, this show isn't good, some pretty lazy writing and very one dimensional writing that doesn't do it any favours.

It's amazing how much the Hannibal film series declined from it's first near-perfect entry and as good as Silence of the Lambs is, it doesn't hold a candle to Michael Mann's adaptation of Red Dragon, Manhunter. With each subsequent film slowly declining in quality before becoming an outright laughing stock.

I would give this 5 stars but Monica Rial ruined it for me.

Honestly, a lot better than people give it credit for. The return to the darker roots of the character is extremely welcome after Robocop 3 and the Series. The added backstory Murphy's life before the events of the first film is very interesting giving more humanity to an already soul searching character. The addition of Murphy's former partner Cable makes for a very interesting dynamic. Unfortunately, the shoestring budget means you will see a lot of the same sets again and again. But that doesn't detract from the overall brilliant story. 4/5
