Personally I feel Melinda's betrayal. It was emotional. She was tired and drained emotionally and the only thing she had to hold onto to keep her sanity was her resentment. It was never about the money! It was the "wasted years" and we all know Robert did not acknowledge that. Everyone is wired differently and we all have our ways of processing pain. All she wanted was for her sisters to see it from her perspective.
