Adoring the first season and its potential, I am utterly disgusted and annoyed by the unnecessary turn of season 2. A TOTAL mess! This obsession with the plot of Lasher - I'm so over it - he's not that interesting as a character, and the actor is dry and a bad actor - When the teen version of him killed that girl I was SO invested - then the show turned him into his regular older season 1 self - I literally went UGH out loud. He should have stayed a teen in the house with her - that would have been great to watch. Season 2 amplifies this obsession with the adult Lasher character - the show should be named Lasher. I don't know about you but a diehard fan of everything witchy - there is something so utterly non witchy about this season that I just just didn't at all seem authentic to the first season. Watching this just makes me want to turn it off and rewatch AHS season 3 Coven - now that is witchy. No idea how much of season 2 is Anne Rice - but doesn't make it right - the overly righteous taking itself too seriously tone - the rushed plot, the abandonment of New Orleans and dropped into some Scottish setting for HALF the season with a once upon a time/ Game of thrones vibe. WHO is telling them this is what we want? Because we don't. This is a desperate plot move you make around season 4-5 after you exhaust the New Orleans location - seeing as the seasons are so short - there was plenty more to explore in New Orleans with the cast. Obsessing over this plot point that the 2 witches are caught in a thrawl then in the last episode to not SHOW them exit the thrawl (lazily filming outside the home then audio of them rescued) is SO bogus to me. That scene I shook my head. The love interest being quickly written off by the forgetting potion is also kind of sad - I don't see why he needed to leave the show so randomly - him taking the forgetting potion just didn't seem necessary for the character after he was confirmed to be trusted. Nothing about this shows plot is expensively and creatively written to create riveting television - there's something very safe and cheap about how this show is produced. Lasher being killed then resurrected then killed again - its like this show cant make up its mind and has no true creative plot goal. I cant STAND these cheap thrills. Season 2 is NO from me dawg.

People have no taste depth or grasp on real life anymore. This movie was incredible. For a movie about a serial killer its incredible how there was zero gore. Actually made it more creative to pull off as it was all psychological. Josh Hartnets acting is top dollar and rivals all overrated stars the last 30 years (Cruise, Clooney even Pitt). If anyone one else was casted the movie might have not worked but Joshs performance from beginning to end was so riviting I couldnt look away. The happy dad the Dark passenger. The fearless moves. The Serial killer profiler. Fun new idea to corner a killer in a concert and not let him escape. I mean when has that plot been done? Have some gratitude to not have seen another redundant film. Right when u think the movie is over it takes 5 more turns making the experience more rewarding and compacted with suspense. When he kidnapped the singer. Ok i didnt see that coming. Then kidnaps her twice. Then goes after his wife. Then gets caught for reals then alludes to another escape. Come on! You all are basic af. This was a rewarding movie to sit through. If you werent so addicted to your stupid phones youd appreciate traditional film art if you saw it.

This show is SO bad lol. Just watched the pilot. So much going on at once, dramatic closeups cgi mixed with real camera shots, dramatic noises, a blind guy fighting off a killer (and living). That alone immediately ruined it for me- have the blind guy get murdered and spend a whole episode finding his killer. Over 5 murders going on in the pilot- too many characters introduced, along with feeling left out for not knowing the full perspective of returning characters journeys. The lab is cartoony- as well as the actors - everything feels forced and faked, and cheap (despite how expensive it all looks). I'm an avid true crime junky- forensic files, bones, Dexter, American crime story series, the staircase, as well as a thriller gripping drama junkie nip tuck American horror story ect dark tales done honest raw real and gripping. Have I been too spoiled by Ryan Murphy, hbo, and showtime? Perhaps- but I could barely get to episode 2 before turning this off. It just gives me second hand embarrassment for who ever rebooted and produced this show. I used to watch csi episodes back in the day when the blonde woman starred- it was more serious gripping with an organizational narrative that held interest in the key mystery of each episode. Unlike most people nowadays- I blind bought this thing on DVD from Barnes- an even greater reason to give this thing my full attention and reap the investment I put into it- and I could barely pay attention. Those who remember the key experience of buying physical media knows what I'm talking about. I usually don't judge so harshly on pilots and give shows a chance- but the messy cartoony and NON serious manner and bad acting on episode 2 made me remove this from my player and slap it back in its case- determining in my head whether I should be that person returning a DVD or sell it on eBay. It's too fast, grip less, staged, corny, fresh (vs raw and morbid), uplifting (despite the murder theme of the show) like a Shonda Rhymes type show. Inventing Ana, scandal, greys anatomy ect. I can't STAND this type of feel in a show- I call it the shonda rhymes filter - a filter thrown over a show preventing you from dealing with the realities of life, absorbing uncomfortable silence, and overall feeling a characters pain intentionally. I mean if you like these shows than this is for you I guess. Show me reality and morbidity please. In actuality - its more sick and morbid to make the theme of 'murder' so fun and artistic. I know these are fictional murders- but something satanic and crude about making murder like a game of dodgeball. Like can I sue? JK. Wait no can I? What's filmed in Vegas - should leave Vegas - and keep my interest on a couch in Wisconsin without cringing. Even that theme song is cring-ey to hear in 2024. That theme worked better in the original show as it complimented the darker and serious feel. Mixing hyper intro dance song you sing drunk with friends, with a bubbly fast murder themed show. Just no. BOO.

Honest to god people- what is this garbage? The pilot was so awful- I paused it half-way through and took a beasty nap then hit play again annoyed and disinterested in these peoples problems (They jump around and try to tell over 10 peoples trashy stories). Coming from lower class myself and escaping my family - this show is very triggering. Its like I'm watching a bunch of idiots with toxic dynamics all over again. This show is the lowest of American society living their lowest lower middle class lives in a dumpy boring town. I don't get how there is a demand to tell these type of stories. Do these people exist? Sure. Do they deserve to have their stories told- absolutely not. Feels like I'm watching some feel good doo-gooder humanitarian show about 'learning' about how bad I *could* have it. In a sense it feels very shameful to the viewer. Very empty feeling afterward. You know how shows help you escape your reality? This almost pulls you deeper into your own reality as there's no entertainment factor to balance out the gloomy cloud that hovers over the shows tone. If watching your brother rob your home, and being an abused single mother, and wondering if Kate Winslet is going to take a shower wasn't enough- they even had to throw in a girl with DOWN syndrome halfway through the pilot to push this shame narrative. lol So unnecessary. You think it would be enough to have Kate Winslet and her story push the show but her character is such an unattractive miserable POS you dont even care she is struggling with her life. She reminds me of that toxic customer you want to stay away from to not absorb their energy on your 8 hour work shift- and you want to put this into my TV shows? The Netflix show 'Maid' has a similar concept but Maid was beautifully done to where you went on a journey with an interesting character embarking on a new journey and you want to see how it ends with her. Kate just sits there miserable when not miserably doing her job. It's as if they know how dull the tone is they had to end the pilot with a body in the river to keep us hooked. *eye roll*. I love me a murder mystery but not if these are the characters and tone I have to endure. HARD PASS.
