Short review: Loved it. Sometimes the sadness overcomes the joy but not for long.
Long review: I watched this special after his award winning previous special and his scene in P&R. Suffice it to say that I was already ready to like it but holy smokes is it good! I believe the best stand up specials are like a movie. They are made up of tiny little sub plots which all are great in themselves but also contribute to an over arching story line. In many stand up specials either one or the other wins out. It's either the story (a sad one usually of self discover through trauma or a list of things that are wrong) or the sub plot (the jokes). But not in this one. He balances trauma and sadness with joy, comical annoyance, astute observation and a witty turn of phrase. It's great, time well spent.
P.S. There is political stuff in it and it might not be for everyone as the commenter above/below states.
