We REALLY enjoyed this movie! Feel some if the poorer ratings are not fair! First of all, always love these period pieces. Mel Gibson and Sean Penn both had exceptionally good acting throughout this movie! A VERY difficult character to play by Sean Penn as Dr. Miner! I truly feel Sean Penn should DEFINITELY get an Academy Award nomination next year for his moving and excellent portrayal of Dr. Miner, the Madman! I would NOT be at ALL surprised if he goes on to get the Best Male Actor’s award in a Supporting Role. Mel Gibson’s portrayal as Dr. Murray in the Lead Role was also excellent, but not as compelling as Penn’s performance. A DEFINITE watch for those who like non-fictional period pieces; especially set in England.
