One of the most brilliantly executed origin stories of any villain. Joaquin Phoenix took the role of the Joker (which was already well portrayed by Health Ledger and Jack Nicholson) and managed to captivate my inner being with his portrayal of Author Fleck, aka The Joker. The movie is not supposed to be about your average villain who just decides one day that he's going to put on some make-up and terrorise a city, No. This movie is a perfect example of how real-life events in our daily lives can negatively impact us and the way in which we deal with hardships. Its these hardships that shaped Author Fleck into the Joker. This movie gets a thumbs up from me. Health Ledger would be proud to see his role taken upon by Phoenix
