As a huge fan of Watchdogs 2, (almost 200 hours played) I had extremely high expectations for this game. I can say that the recruitment system was not a disappointment, it works exactly how you would expect and is actually quite fun. It's the rest of the game that I am disappointed with.
The main story, while somewhat interesting, doesn't present any crazy plot twists, or have any incentive for me to actually care about it. There are no main characters, (except Dedsec as a whole,) so there isn't any connection there. The story felt somewhat boring, as I found myself using the same tactics to complete each mission.
The freeroam play is also quite stale. There is no real reason to do anything except missions, besides the bareknuckle boxing arenas. There isn't any racing that there was in the last game, and online play hasn't been added to the game. The overall environment is fairly boring, there isn't much to see.
After completing the main storyline, I was instantly bored. The side missions don't offer anything exciting, and there's no reason for me to keep recruiting people that I'll never use.
I have to say that I'm fairly disappointed with this game. The gameplay is repetitive, and there's no reason to play the game once you've completed it. The currency is practically useless, as you can't even buy cars or guns. You're restricted to what your teammates already own.
If you had high expectations for this game, expect to be disappointed. The graphics are a minor upgrade, but everything else is quite boring. I hope that the addition of multiplayer will make this game worth playing.
