The story is melancholic but at times a little all over the place. Thematically the game is dark much like the world it takes place in and deals with the morality of eye for an eye revenge narratives. None of this takes away from how beautifully lived in the game world feels. The mechanics are as fun and easy as the first game but with some nice editions to close combat. As an adendum to the first game it's perhaps a story that doesn't need to be told, nevertheless the mechanics are fun, the graphics, cutscenes and score so overwhelmingly beautiful that it is still a must play. One that expands on the consequences of Joel's actions in the first game and brings some catharsis to the player.
