The King, the Eternal Monarch At first, I would not entirely understand the thread of the story from one world to another. However, as the characters revealed themselves it made a lot of sense. I think it's a beautiful philosophical view on life and what makes us who we are. The characters do not really change but what changes is their destiny, as their actions transform not only their lives but the lives of others. The love story between Jeong Tae Eul and Lee Gon is developed with simplicity and beauty. The writer, Kim Eun Sook struck the right note. The subject was difficult but congratulations, it was a masterpiece.

This love story is a classic. On many levels, it reminds me of Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice. Not for the plot but for the themes developed from episodes to episodes. It's basically a love story where the characters develop a stronger sense of who they are and become able to allow love to survive and exist in their lives. They both have to face the trials of their own pride and grow stronger despite the prejudice within themselves and around them. I enjoyed the music very much as well. I thought the dialogs sounded real and true. There is nothing borrowed in this story, Love is depicted as simple as it can be beautiful.
