After waiting eight years (having read most of Steve Alten's books in the series at the time), I was not let down. It's not a true adaptation, instead taking many of the elements from the books and changing them in certain ways, but I could still see the main idea of the books even through the final film, and it did not let me down one bit. Hope to see a sequel soon!
