Well, I just loved this. I am not a purist, so I haven’t seen what has gone before. From the other reviews I have read, perhaps that’s a good thing.
This genre is not something I would normally even watch, but gee I am so glad I did. I was captivated right from the simple ornate artistic opening credits to the last few seconds of the final episode where we were given a small morsal, a tease, of what adventures could be instore for the four nations.
I thought all the actors did an incredible job of bringing the story of Avatar: The Last Airbender to life. Gordon Cormier I thought shone in the role of Aang. A huge responsibility that I thought he pulled off by breathing extraordinary life into his character. Gordon was supported by a great cast Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Dallas Liu as Zuko, Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai and special mention to Ken Leung as Commander Zhao and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh who helped bring an uncle’s special wisdom to Zuko and the series.
I did begin to binge watch this series however with three or four episodes to go I decided to savour the moment by watching one each night. Just fantastic
As I said at the start, I have never seen the animated series. My review is based only from the enjoyment and entertainment I found with this Avatar: The Last Airbender. Well done to all involved!!! Bring on the next series.
If you are considering watching it……you should.
