I've got to say, I wasn't expecting to be disappointed with the movie 'You People.'
I mean, with a lineup of these comedy actors, I was expecting to be in stitches. But man, did this film fall short.
Eddie Murphy, Jonah Hill, Julia Louis-Dreyfus ... these actors know comedy, i saw it before. They could tell a joke and they could take a joke. But damn it, it seems like everyone in Hollywood has become so politically correct that they've lost their sense of humor. They're too scared that they might offend someone, that they've become afraid to be bold and daring.
You mixed blacks with jews and that's all what you got? Really?
Ha-Ha - look at this middle-aged white woman trying to blend and be cool. Â
OMG, you compared Holocaust to slavery!!!
OMG, both jews and muslims eat bacon... wow hilarious, LOL. let me get my panties up.Â
Comedy is supposed to push boundaries, to challenge our assumptions and make us think. But now, it seems like everyone is playing it safe, avoiding controversy at all costs. They're afraid to make a joke that might ruffle some feathers, that might actually make us laugh. And as a result, the whole thing has become bland, predictable, and just plain unfunny.
In case someone missed, don't worry, they also covered LGBTQ topic with a gey sister, so no need to cancel, they are good, all covered.
