The gameplay itself is pretty good, but unfortunately I encountered a “good” character that is both a white and cisgendered male; something that does not exist outside fantasy games. I am also troubled by the lack of representation of differently-abled trans characters in wheelchairs. This is hugely problematic as it reinforces ableism, heteronormativity, and perhaps even Trump support. Having said that, we all know that they are fascist-slaying machines that deserve at least a +10 ATK (wheelchair battering ram), and a further +10 DEF if they have blue/purple hair (aposematism).
Another potentially problematic trope is the insistence that a Woman of Color must audibly use her Black Girl Magic Voice (+100 Speech, +100,000 Speech in quiet theatres) when, in reality, melanin is able to convey feelings, concepts, and transmit information instantaneously without any audible sounds.
Aside from these issues, great game. Solid one star.
