Though the band and the backup vocals are excellent, their sound generally drowns out the contestants. Today’s technology should not let this happen. Other televised voice competitions do not experience this. It’s almost like the band wants or needs to overshadow the contestants. I have read that tv sound compression is one of the reasons for this but I don’t believe it. The many competitors deserve better!
