There’s something cold and soulless about the game that makes me feel empty and lonely deep inside when I play it. It lacks the warmth and personal connection of an RPG like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic or Fable. For a game as immersive as this is, if there’s not enough of a sense of purpose, identity, warmth and connection to the character you are playing, such an immersive world feels more and more like a burden with each step, so that by the time you reach the final Act in the game, you are experiencing an existential crisis, wondering why you even have to go through the trouble of saving the world. In the first Act, there is enough mystery and built up intrigue about your identity and destiny to keep you excited. That sense of identity and purpose quickly fades away after the first Act.
