Superficial. Pretentious. Obvious. Trite. I found the book difficult to read because it was so poorly written. If it hadn’t been a book club selection, I would have stopped reading it after the first few very short chapters.
Some books that are charming can hold your attention. This book was not remotely charming or interesting. I’m surprised James Patterson allowed his name to be included with the authors.
