Just watched this movie -- it was...fine? I like romcoms; I like opposites-attract. I don't expect everyone to act realistic in a comedy, so I was okay with the over-the-top parts (like the 'roid rage bit) being unrealistic.
I have never liked scenes in movies/tv shows that make fun of less conventionally attractive people for daring to try be part of the world of love and romance. "Hot people are doing stuff! Get out of the way!" is a depressing message in a romcom. This movie did that, several times (e.g. that sex scene with the fourth guy trying to be involved and how he was supposed to be funny).
I thought the other sex scenes were hilarious, and some of the banter was very funny. (E.g. "No. I like guys who are physically frail and never stop talking.") I laughed a lot. And the family relationships were lovely, as was the push to get kids used to the idea of same-sex relationships as part of the culture.
I liked how they sort of very slowly got over themselves and acknowledged they were in a relationship. And "will you date me for three months and then re-evaluate" was hilarious.
