Right. So loved the books. Dealt with the inconsistencies in the first series because it felt as through the movies were “in the spirit of the books”. Fantastic beasts one and two were OK, didn’t realize how much warped charisma Johnny Depp has until someone else took over his role. Doesn’t feel like the same character. Putting that aside, the movie plot feels broken and inconsistent, even just tying it back into the first two fantastic beast movies. There is a dark magic for certain, for whenever some special rule or universal truth needs be broken, this new state of being or thing can be pulled out of thin air. Unfortunate, really. I was rather excited for this last movie and it was truly much more than just a bit of a let down. :(
