I went through the book in 1973 along with Tom Sawyer &Dickens David Copperfield. It was in my English literature course. I liked & enjoyed Jim's character and language tremendously. I, even practiced to speak accordingly. The plot of thought is beyond explanation. Journey of Mississippi, meetings with kins, encounter with hoodlums etc are inexplicable.Just fantastic.
