Having been an incredible fan of this show since the beginning, in 1979, through the two Charles' and, now with Jane Pauley, I have to tell you how disappointed I have been the past couple of years in the direction of the show. I never knew the political views of either Charles(nor did I care), but the show has taken on an incredible political slant since Ms. Pauley's arrival, and, to be honest, I don't know if it is her direction/idea or the network's. All I know is some weeks it is unwatchable. Ms. Pauley's interview with Andrew Cuomo was embarressing, a total puff piece, all with the controversy still reverberating about his handling of Senior Facilties with the Coronavirus; not one question about that with at least 6,500 lives lost. The Gary Hart piece today, August 16th, was incredibly biased and using Gary Hart, yes, Gary Hart, as some expert in anything political (other than affairs during a Presidential campaign, and being indignant about it) was ridiculous. The entire piece was slanted against the President, as are many pieces now on SUNDAY MORNING. No one says Donald Trump is not incredibly flawed in some of his Presidential decisions and actions, but, CBS should show some respect for both the President and journalism, specifically. Since when is it CBS's responsibility to slant the news, no matter how much you might disagree with the President. It is insulting and not journalism. Over 40 years of viewership for my wife and me--tougher to watch every week. What ever happened to the Tim Russerts of the world. A known Democrat, but honest as a journalist; the same with Bob Schieffer at your Network. So Sad.
