Based on the cast and writers you would think this show would be much better. But it's pretty racist, kinda sexist, and just overall not funny. I watched it twice and didn't actually laugh once. I was really disappointed watching through this at how poorly it held up the test of time (and it's been done less than ten years). I think there's a reason you rarely hear people say 30 Rock is one of their favorite binge worthy shows.

I had some high hopes for this film, as the first one was fresh, funny, and overall a great time. Though Double Tap didn't really deliver on quite a few fronts. There were a few moments in the movie that were built up like they would really tug at your heart strings, and then they just didn't. Some of the best movies get you on multiple levels, not just the funny level, but also the emotional one. I was not emotionally attached to this movie whatsoever. I didn't care about the characters plight and the story arc of Little Rock really didn't have any closure which was pretty disappointing. I did however, really enjoy Tallahassee's story arc, though I wish it would have gotten in depth a little bit more. It partially seemed as though they were just making him unhappy to add drama to the plot when he had clearly been happy for ten years and was just now upset about something. I really liked some of the added characters. Madison was a breath of fresh air to the film and I'm so glad they added her. She was the most memorable part of this movie, honestly. Overall I was happy with the humor, but I probably won't watch this movie again for a few more years.

The first time I went through this show I really liked it for the most part. I do think it should have ended one season before it actually did (the loss of Ann Perkins definitely took it's toll on the show). But the second time I went through it I realized just how unbelievable these characters are as real people and a real group of friends. Most of them (including Leslie) never went through any real growth or change and are so unlikeable as people, so self serving that it's crazy they've maintained their friendships. Everything that Leslie does is for her own self service. They're always saying what a good friend she is and how much everyone loves her, but I just wonder... why? She doesn't actually show any sign of caring about these people other than to make herself feel better by being a "better friend" than everyone else. She monopolizes everyone's time and energy and uses her memory and gift giving as a way to make people do things for her that they would not normally do. Ann's love for her makes literally no sense. (Tom does the exact same thing and it's really difficult to watch) This show promotes bullying to such an extent that it stops being funny VERY quickly. Jerry did LITERALLY nothing to deserve such disgusting and extensive levels of bullying. I do not applaud the writers of Parks and Rec for promoting this behavior. I would say the only characters in this show worth watching and who truly showed signs of growth and change over the course of the show are April, Ron, Donna, and Jerry. Though for the most part not one of them is a good person. Jerry and Ann excluded. The three stars is for the occasional humor that was not promoting bullying. Those jokes were pretty good and the character development of April and Ron was really incredible.

The plot of this movie was definitely intended to raise eyebrows and make people think. It was dark and disturbing and honestly just way too grandeur to really be believable. Arthur's descent into madness did not turn him into some evil criminal mastermind, in fact, his actions throughout the movie showed that he had no plan whatsoever and was just doing things because he could. I did appreciate the tone of this film and the way they displayed mental illness (though it was a bit over the top) as really the main character. Overall, most of the plot was not believable, and there was gore and murder, just to have gore and murder. Some of it didn't even advance the plot. But I will applaud Joaquin Phoenix on his acting, he did a marvelous job portraying Arthur and the slow but steady loss of his mind.
