If you're not buying this for nostalgic value I would recommend making a very educated decision before buying. You may or may not enjoy a MGS experience.
An hour or more in, the experience seemed to be 80 percent cheesy cutscenes that will make you cringe your face off. Then after the cutscenes you will often have to talk on the radio which can take up to a few minutes. Bits of the story and certain characters may intrigue you after some time, as they have me, and I'm beginning to really enjoy its pace 6 hours in.
The gameplay becomes more fun as you go, the more tactics you acquire via gadgets and arsenal. Once you understand how it's meant to be played you may become hooked to the experience. MGS is a unique one.
The graphics are not GREAT in all areas, But sometimes they are stunning, and even surprising.
Can't wait to play more of it tonight.
