Nicola Von Wurzbach

I have seen all the HP films and the first Magnificent Beasts film and enjoyed them all. I was however disappointed with this one, as were my husband and daughter. It was perfectly watchable but felt less coherent as a plot and tried to fit in too much. There is probably too much reliance on CGI and trying to tie the plot into Harry Potter as a bit of a prequel. Having said this, I think that JK Rowling is a genius and has the most wonderful talent in being able to create such a parallel world (while at the same time writing brilliant detective novels). Perhaps my expectations were too high?

A very interesting film but I had some reservations: 1. Too long at 3 hours; 2. Probably too many characters as it got a bit confusing ; 3. I wasn't a fan of the parallel story lines, ie the manufacture of the bomb and the questioning of oppenheimers politics. I would have preferred a more simple chronological storyline, which I think would have had more impact. I found the use of black and white in some sections unhelpful; 4. Why did we have to see Florence Pughs breasts? This was totally unnecessary in the storyline,.
