This book taught me about a chapter in history with precise details. The research that went into writing "A Train in Winter" was expansive and brought to light the story of how brave women survived the atrocities of WWII, their loyalty to others in their situation and how they miraculously emerged from the horrors they lived through. The support these women gave to each other seems to have been a key element in their survival and the book provides evidence of this. A most worthwhile read, highly recommended.
