While I would not recommend this to someone I know hates cheesy rom-coms, this has got to be my favorite cheesy rom-com for the 20 somethings who are hopeful skeptics when it comes to love (like me). As if being LGBT+ wasn't already enough (I was honestly sold on the cute poster), this movies explores the very real anxiety surrounding the idea of what it's like to want, find, and fear love all at the same time.
It's very soft at times, very funny, and actually has touches of real interaction here and there. I can see myself and my friends in Sam, Harry, and Stasia. I can only hope to find myself in such a perfectly imperfect social place five years from now.
If you can't stomach a Lifetime movie, this probably isn't meant for you. But honestly, this is far better than every Lifetime movie and indie romcom I've ever seen; I didn't expect to well up as much as I did. This surpassed every expectation and doubt I had. In fact, I'm going to go watch it again.
