Isaac Baldwin (Xengar)

Smooth animation can't distract from the eye-rolling allegories in Nimona. Netflix's newest product boasts a story of good and evil, but the perspective is as shallow as the setting. Villains are the othered, so are really good, but the virtuous are in fact wicked... is your mind blown by the subversion yet? Waste of time.

It's a solid B+ level film. It's not trying to be the next Alien because there's no such thing. However, Kristen Stewart carries the film with some excellent directing by William Eubank. Give it a shot.

Lean and mean, this is a great film that I wish I could've watched in theaters with scotch. Amazing performances across the board, particularly from Hugh Grant and Charlie Hunnam. Best of January 2020.
