Spoiler free review:
This book starts really slow. The first third of the book seem rather boring and bland to me - just describing the friends going about their lives. To a point where I actually lost the momentum to finish the book. Picked it up again months later after being urged by a few friends. About halfway through the book, it really picks up and suddenly a lot of things make sense and by the last 100 or so pages I needed to put down the book every 5 minutes because I couldn’t see with tears clouding my eyes. It’s raw, gut wrenching emotion described mercilessly by the author. It felt like I was the 5th friend watching them through the years.
Took one star away for the slow start, I wasn’t the only person among my reader friends who lost interest.
However if you keep reading, you’re in for an emotional ride
Despite that, I wouldn’t recommend this for weak hearted people and I feel that this book should definitely come with multiple trigger warnings
