Why this movie is trash. There are a lot of spoilers so don't read if not done with book. Sorry if this might be a little long. ⚠️Spoiler Alert⚠️ 1.The character feature's and role are wrong, Annabeth' hair was brunette and she had blue eyes. In the book, it clearly stated that her hair was honey blonde and she had intense grey eyes. Percy Jackson was supposed have black hair and sea-green eyes, but he has blue eyes. Also in capture the flag Annabeth was on the red team where as Percy and Luke are on the blue team. Annabeth uses Percy as bait to win capture the flag, but in the movie she and Percy battle. 2. Most of my favorite parts aren't even there. One of my favorite scene is where Percy gets claimed. In the movie, Chiron and Grover already knew that Percy was Poseidon's son. Nancy Bobofit wasn't even there. I loved the part where she got pushed in the water. The part where Luke almost kills Percy with a scorpion is so good and suspenseful. 3. They add new scene's but don't add the real ones and change the point of the quest. Percy, Grover, and Annabeth ,in the book, go on the quest with the whole camps knowledge, while in the movie they sneak out. The campfire when hades shows up is so wrong, Luke is supposed to summon a hell hound to kill Percy but hades shows up. The quest is supposed to be about retrieving the lighting bolt but it got narrowed down to find the pearls and save my mother. The pearls where just given to Percy by the sea Nereid. When they are in the underworld Percy gives a pearl to himself, Grover, and Annabeth not his mother. I know this is not in order but i love it when Percy and Sally drag an unconscious Grover. 4. All the characters are wrong. Percy in the movie is like "Oh ya I'm the kid of the prophecy, hail me. I'm so popular and strong this is so much fun ya", but in the movie he didn't want to be ignored or be the kid of the prophecy he just wanted to be normal for once in his life. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHY ARES ISN'T EVEN MENTIONED IN THE MOVIE. Ares was the lighting thief along with Luke, but the movie just narrowed it down to Luke is the bad guy none of the Gods are bad except hades. Hades wasn't supposed to be the bad guy, hades didn't want to overthrow Zeus he wanted to find his helm of darkness and he was angry that Zeus broke their pact by having another child. He knew that Zeus would blame Poseidon and a war would unfold. Clarisse wasn't there but personally I didn't think she was a big character in the lighting thief. Also why is Persephone in the underworld it is summer so she should be with her mother Demeter. Grover didn't even mention nature or pan once during the whole movie, when his whole life ambition was to get his searchers license and fine pan. 5. My favorite lines aren't there. We all love when Annabeth calls Seaweed Brain. The quote " Even strength must bow down to wisdom". LONG STORY SHORT: THE MOVIE IS HORRIBLE DONT WATCH IT.
