That’s an hour and a half of my life I’ll never be able to get back. Summary- a bitter actor that never lived up to his self proclaimed stardom whining about home some flippant article comparing the youth actors of the 80s to the Rat pack derailed his rise to fame.
It’s sad that McCarthy, who would have otherwise been a virtual unknown nowadays, is only remembered because he was part of the infamous brat pack. With the exception of Ally Sheedy, all of the actors seemed to try to get him to realize that the Brat Pack label wasn’t nearly the big deal he is still making of it threes decades later. McCarthy seems to be suffering from a mid life crisis and is grasping at straws to explain why he never became the success he wanted to be. It’s called life buddy. Get over yourself, stop being a whiny little baby and realize you just aren’t that important to anyone, much less Hollywood. It’s not a bad thing. Focus on what’s good about your life, your family, and the success you did enjoy. Just move on and please don’t waste our time with any more documentaries on anything. I can’t stand a nearly 60 year old man lamenting on the self perceived failures of his life and trying to blame everyone else. Get over yourself.
