This movie had a lot of potential and strong qualities. The setup and context clues proved to be effective (though slightly dragged out), the lead’s acting was strong and the cinematography/sound design was superb. However the subject matter and the “twist” was predictable and my only gripe is that there would’ve been a more unexplored topic/concept rather than those exploited in the film. “Trauma” seems to be the focal point and standard in every psychological horror film today and it was examined in an interesting, clever way but there were some gaps in the screenwriting that overall did not fully achieve the victim redemption in which Kravitz aimed for. With that being said, it was a solid first effort by the young director nonetheless and I am interested to see what she does next.
