It’s a treat to see a film written and directed by John Sayles. No cliches. Plenty of sly humor and interesting characters. You really get the sense of Louisiana - the swamps, humidity, music, lifestyle. It’s a sensitive film that leaves you pondering over the many powerful scenes.
