Am I missing something? We went to watch this at the Bristol Hippodrome 01.03.2025, with high hopes as we absolutely love 80's music, Sonia and Sam Bailey. But what we got, dear oh dear, this show was absolutely excruciating from beginning to end. The story was so dull, and I lost track of what was going on quite quicky. The AMAZING songs were absolutely butchered by the cast, and I don't think there was one song that was performed from start to finish without some 'Comedic' interruptions. As for Sam Bailey, well she finally appeared for the second half, but was totally underused and rarely had a chance to show off her vocals, as it was mainly duets, she should have had her own songs to belt out that great voice, and as for Sonia... I love Sonia and all her songs, but I think she appeared for about 5 mins, near the end, then again at the very end and was very underwhelming (Sorry)
We were very close to not going back in after the interval, but we had travelled all the way to Bristol to see this, so thought we had better see the whole show... what a mistake that was, the second half was even worse than the first, and I didnt think that was possible. I'm sorry, but this show was just dreadful, and I am shocked it has actually been made and let loose on the public. And choreography by Craig Revel Horwood??? There was hardly any dancing in it at all, and what 'dancing' there was, well? I've seen much better amDram Panto shows than this, MUCH better. I'm sorry, I am sure everybody worked hard on this, but it was poor, and very boring, and from now on I am sticking to West End Shows, it's worth paying the extra and seeing something professional and enjoyable
