When I was little, a kid in the neighborhood told me he had a rattlesnake in a cigar box. He would not open it to let me see it. I could hear a hiss coming from the box. I could also feel the snake moving around in the box. Two of my friends told me they had seen the snake. That was enough evidence for me, I believed there was a snake in the box. Later I learned it was a turtle, I never forgot the lesson: Open the box and show me the snake.
