The begining premise of this movie, and character development, was enough to at first pull me in. Really, I was there for about the first 70 percent of the movie.
I enjoyed seeing what Nick Cage did with his character-though toward the end there was no shortage of over-acting, on his part. Perhaps if I saw my wife literally consume our child, I might have a few bad days too.
I get it, its HP Lovecraft, but the feasting Mom thing was really when I got off the bus here, and felt like I was suddenly watching a really bad version of "The People Under the Stairs". There is no good version. I think a 2 rating is a bit generous here, as they turned a sort of interesting movie into a horrific comedy. I won't even get started on the tacky special effects. Ok, gotta go....
