I came into this expecting to see the character that had started to develop in Wakanda, with like minds. Highly disappointed in her generally sh*tty attitude, lack of respect for family and loyal friends. The level of DEI in this is off the charts. I'm all for diversity. I'm not all for creating mechanized characters to fit an agenda or (while I am a supporter of the LGBTIAQ+ community) fostering unhealthy visual role models for youth, predominantly presenting characters that have had dangerous levels of plastic surgery as a part of their persona. I've worked with youth for 20+ years, mostly marginalized and this just is not a healthy model for them to follow. The Spiderverse and it's follow up were amazing. Marginalized communities, their every day struggles, and NONE of it forced.
