Sikander- My most anticipated film of the year. After walking out the theater I was shocked, on what I saw. The film was not anywhere where I expected. The story was a causal story. The action was good but in areas wasn’t the best also. The entry scene was the highlight. Salmans bracket and entry goes hand to hand. Amazing, then we’re told salmans life, and from all the leaks and all the projections I have been watching and making over the last year, the film doesn’t come near it. It does not look like a AR Murgadoss film. The story is normal, they didn’t really hint at it too much in the trailer or teaser, because how basic it is. The film has good moments in action and some high points. Moving on to the acting, Salman was Salman amazing as normal he gave it his all, but bad script can’t save it. Rashmika was wasted, we were told she was the main attraction, but it wasn’t the case. The supporting cast was ok also. Sharman disappointed. Moving on to the music, I loved it that was really good. The BGM of NO THRONES LEFT was good in the promotional content but not in the film itself. The film has lots of good things also going. Like the action sequences, cinematography, and some other things. But the story is outdated and old. You can’t save a film like that with this. I’ve been tracking and waiting for this film for the last year. And I am disappointed. But the film was good in moments. The film could’ve been extended for 30-40mins more and it was rushed basically. The story may be outdated but you can still make it work, I would’ve liked the story more if the direction behind it was better. But we didn’t see that. Now what’s next for the megastar, he needs to reinvent himself or make a sequel to a blockbuster, if I was salman khan right now I’d start on bajrangi bhaijaan 2 immediately. That film will reinvent stardom. Overall Sikander is a good one time watch film, and a must watch for the Salman fans. -3.5/5

The Diplomat- John Abraham kills it again. He carries the film on his back showing the star he is and why he is still in the industry today. The film hits a very good subject matter of what a mistake can do. The backbone of the film is Sadias character. Her character was shown so well in the film. She had a great touch in the film the whole way throughout. The film starts off ok and looks like a continuation of kerala stories but once John enters the film it goes up and up. You start wondering more about the film. And then the interval happens and you’re hooked. The second half starts off underwhelming and slow but it picks up once we get to the court scene and then the last 20 minsters are amazing. The acting was amazing from everyone, John proves why he is a veteran in the industry. Sadie Kateeb gives another great performance after raksha bandan. The supporting actors were also amazing. The film has ok start and some scenes in the film are very boring. The film could’ve been way better presented. None the less it is still a John entertainer and great film to watch.-3.6/5

Chhaava- One of the best historical films in Bollywood history . What a film, the last 40 minutes is mind blowing, one of the best 40 minutes block in the history of cinema. Vicky khausal and akshaye khanna are so into their character you can’t see anyone else. Vicky kaushal gives his life’s best performance. He was outstanding, from start to end he was only and only Shamba ji, what an actor. He deserves a national award for this film. On one side we can see Vicky but the other side akshaye khanna gives an outstanding role and Aurangzeb, he nailed the role and was in perfect character. Even after he was given limited screentime he leaves a lasting impact in the film. Rashmika definitely disappointed maybe it’s that she just isn’t built for this role she was still looking like srivali from Pushpa in the film. The film explores a lot into the character and about shamba ji with his mother. The first half of the film is ok not that good, it actually drags and is very boring for the 45 minutes before the interval. After the interval it picks up speed on how shamba ji did his attacks but it speeds through the film very fast not allowing you to process it. Eventually the final 40 minutes arrive which is MIND BLOWING thats where Vicky kaushal is in full effect and the dialogues at the end are outstanding. And the no fear from Vicky’s character is brilliant I’m not going to spoil but I would say get ready for a lot of blood and violence. The film has lots of portions that could’ve been cut out but are in it and are very unnecessary. The film has an amazing BGM but some BGM parts are underwhelming. But just because of those last 40 minutes this film is an outstanding film and many more films like this should be made we need to know our history. - 4.4/5

My Gadar 2 review first watch and second watch Gadar 2: The Katha Continues(first watch)- OUTSTANDING STORY WHAT A STORY. But where was sunny deol in the first half we needed more of him but still brilliant. The second half was outstanding some small errors but other than that good. The transition from first to second park was brilliant and how they connected them. SUNNY DEOL WAS OUTSTANDING. The Asraf Ali hanging scene was sad but manish wadwa as the new villain was outstanding. A lot of the movie was around utkarsh sharma but sunny took over in the second half anyways. Ameesha Patel was pretty good in the film but small role. This is what you call BLOCKBUSTER CINEMA. Gadar 2: the katha continues(Second watch)- I’ll say it again brilliant and intelligent. The second watch experience was much better than the first. Sunny deol was outstanding. Utkarsh was amazing. Manish wadwa was brilliant. And looking back now the first half was just building the story but the twist at the interval was brilliant. What a movie the movie lives up to the hypes as my most anticipated movie of all time Being the biggest sunny deol fan in Canada I really enjoyed the OG sunny deol back.
