this book encapsulates the very essence of regret longing repentence and sacrifice. hosseinni is one of those writers whose stories stick with you even in the grave. all the characters are perfectly crafted and come to life once you start reading it. the emotions situation and feelings are described in a way that you take them personally and actually living the characters. I bawled my eyes out during certain scenes and i usually am not so emotional. it also sheds light at war and destruction without solely blaming any particular group or indivisual. it is also impossible to write off characters as good or bad because of the comp,exity of situation their emotions and how they deal with remorse.
