Since disney started the crusade of live actions they have been showing disrespect to some of the cult classic movies generations have grown up watching and sharing that magic with each generation that has come along. But never has a movie been so unmercifully destroyed in a way that has made me completely disgusted, I am writing this review ten minutes into the movie and I think people who go on the phone should be kicked out of theatres. But when you completely botch a movie that not only makes you feel for every single character as they try to live their life but make changes that takes the complete magic from in my opinion one of the greatest disney movies I have watched. Do disney truly think their audience is worthless or are they so far up their own corporate ass that they have lost what made them a power house. Every single beat of this sorry excuse for a movie misses the mark, from jumba changing from a deep Russian crazy scientist to a token gay character with no substance or heart, NOT to mention Uncle jumba is now the worst character of the whole movie. Who ever chose Zach galfanakis for this role, should never work in the industrie again. The acting is absoultly disgusting but when you have a script written but people who, have either never seen the movie or hate cinema enough to take a soulful movie and turn it into an unfeeling, heartless aunt who no longer gets invited to family dinner because noone wants the drunk depressed downer that ruins everything she comes into contact with. The decision to change cobra bubbles to two different characters who both act as hollow husks of the original that the whole time either is on screen you wonder what happened to the man who just wanted a job and model citzen. Now onto the biggest thing this movie doesn't seem to grasp and the writers, who stated the character is "to hard to animate" when lord of the rings back in 2002 had hobbies fighting bloody cave trolls. Gantu was such a major antagonist the scene at the end where they come together to rescue lilo from his ship, when she says don't leave me brings a tear to my eye ever single time. The live remake brings a tear to my eye from just being like an acid spray straight to the retina just absoulty the worst decision in movie history, I mean other then selling marvel to Disney, but don't get me started on that hot burning pile of corporate concentrated garbage. All of the best scenes have either been completely re-written or cut and swapped in with either terrible attempts at pop culture, or scenes that to me shows an absoulte inattention to the want and needs of their own fans, who are just screaming for a live actions that shows the original love and care not this abaoult garbage they keep producing. This movie is not lilo and stitch it's that dirty rip off you buy at the street stall on the main strip in Bali on holiday. Basically what I'm trying to say is that the live action lilo and stich is the absoulty worst piss of s$@% i have had the unholy pleasure of spending money to watch, it is $81 dollars and an hour and a half in which I have been cursed to have lived through. Soulless, heartless, joke, pathetic an absoulte travesty of cinema i am sad to say but this is the first movie I have walked out of. If you wanna watch this movie, only do so if your truly hate your own life or really wanna waste somebody else's time great gift option.
