Absolutely loved this book. The brief chapters spanning two different decades really kept my interest, and made it easy to get to a good point which you could pick up in the following time. The story developed in each chapter, so I was eager to read the next one. I loved the characters, even the minor ones were well rounded and believable. I really enjoyed Louise Douglas’ writing style.
Was such a good book the Yorkshire lass in me will overlook the fact she refers to North Yorkshire, which didn’t exist until 1974 (Yorkshire was still the historical Ridings in the 1960’s).
A really good read and highly recommended.
