This series is really poorly put together. Dahmer was excellent and Monsters was absolutely brilliant, so I was genuinely excited to see this one. Unfortunately, it’s a jumbled mess that at times carries an unsettling hint of subtle antisemitism. The writing relies far too much on cheap jump scares, as if the creators ran out of intelligent ideas. It’s a real disappointment. By the end of episode two, I found it almost borderline unwatchable. The only redeeming quality is the lead actor, who delivers a performance far beyond the quality of the direction. Oh and film music is pretty random and crappy. Overall, a dreadful misfire. 👎
