This story, like for so many of us, resonates with our deepest sensibilities. Sometimes it is difficult to articulate precisely where and how it touches us. It is that heartfelt sentiment that the "critics" are out of touch with; it is easy to cast iron judgment to that stubborn clog that just won't budge: "Maybe, something is wrong with it ?" They might say. Some may feel as if the undertones of the film subtract from the value that many others find - fair enough. I, however, recognize that there is a fundamental spiritual quality to the human condition, and that doesn't necessarily mean religious but something akin to overcoming adversity and raising yourself by your boot-straps. It is that story that speaks within all of us, and one I suspect is increasingly needed in our modern times.
