I have been a student of this battle since 1957 when Time magazine published an article on the 15th anniversary of the Battle. I have read Gordon Prangeโs excellent book on the battle, and I saw the earlier version with Henry Fonda and Charlotte Heston. This movie lacked the star power of the earlier rendition but was a gripping and entertaining 2 hours. Ed Skrein was excellent as Lt. Dick Best. This movie gets a solid 9 in my estimation.
