Short: Offensive to anyone who loves the original 1968 movie. Long: I had a lot of thoughts when I left re: all the plot holes and waste of time scenes. I will only mention the ending as it is total nonsense: it contradicts the statements made earlier about the de-evolution of humans, contradicts the female character's aim to 'recover' the de-evolved humans (if they can't understand speech, then they wouldn't understand the broadcast, not to mention they don't have satellites to hear it anyway), and it also was just completely reaching beyond the scope of the story and which they did not build up to during the movie but shoved in the last 5 minutes (presumably in order to create on option to make another, admittedly impressive CGI, adaptation). I genuinely disliked the main human character and all her 'derelict fashion' friends at the base and wished the apes would continue to dominate the planet.
