Gets the job done but, overall not a particularly memorable or amazing game. I donโt expect to ever replay it. I was initially lured in by the idea of being able to transform into a werewolf. Iโve always wanted a decent werewolf game and while this provides some of that fantasy itโs also seriously lacking in a lot of areas that both break the immersion and show a serious lack of research and effort from all those involved in this project. I donโt want to spend all day on this review because, this game isnโt really worth the effort seeing as how the people who made it set out to do about the same thing. With that being said I do want to see this game and world expanded on. The core idea is fantastic and thereโs a lot of room for numerous improvements in many many areas. With some effort I believe this universe which is essentially a very rough diamond can be polished into a real amazing series of games. On the off chance someone in development actually reads this review Iโm going to make a list of things to improve on should someone green light them for a sequel:
-Firearms in this game are unrealistic and improperly researched and their models look like they were designed by people who donโt know anything about guns. From the firearms themselves which are incorrect in both explanation and function to the crates and ammo cans they come out of. If youโre going to sell a video game to this demographic you need to know how weapons operate, what purpose they serve, and make them available to the player. A SPAS-12 is not a pump action rifle for example.
-The AI needs to be overhauled and incorporated with squad tactics. This game is far to easy I played threw on normal and after the Endron training site mission I went back and started the game over on Hard and still was able to beat the game without dying. This game needs to have more of a challenge and more challenging enemies.
-The voice actors.Never hire any of them ever again. Nuff said
- Gameplay. Iโm a werewolf but, I feel more like the Thing from Fantastic Four. For a game where I can pick people up and throw them with an M rating the glory kills are seriously lame. As I mentioned earlier youโre trying to sell this to us, the media proclaimed gamer dudes, yes? Please make the kills more interesting I want to see some blood and organs fly. I want to rip people in half and watch their intestines spill out and the enemies shriek in fear as I bite the heads off their allies. I want to take the saw arms off the exosuits and use it to saw up the guy inside. Neither the sound nor the gameplay is satisfying.
-the stealth mechanics are pretty good keep that.
-Character customization. I donโt like Cahal, Ava, Roddock, or Aedana. But you know what makes a game with intolerable characters tolerable? Character customization. Allow players to pick the look and gender of their werewolf in the future and change the fur color. I want to be a white werewolf but, maybe someone wants to be purple or aqua sounds cool to me.
-The story. Way to on the nose and makes it feel like the good guys and bad guys are very clearly explained. Muddy it up and make it a gray world. The caern you interact with should be just as conflicted as the enemies you fight.
Overall fun game but, couldโve been so much better.
